Rising Arts Leaders Prepare For 7th Annual Creative Conversations
October 25, 2017 (SAN DIEGO, CA) – On November 2nd, arts leaders will workshop and discuss economic challengers to San Diego’s arts community. Creative Conversations: Creative Economies will bring together emerging professionals at San Diego Downtown Library.
Following National Arts & Humanities Month, Creative Conversations has annually convened emerging leaders and industry veterans to discuss local arts, culture, and creativity, create dialogue about regional challenges, and discuss approaches and solutions to some of the biggest obstacles faced by San Diego arts organizations and their communities. In 2014, Creative Conversations resulted in a White Paper that ______ .
Through facilitated activities and conversations led by John M. Eger, Director of the Creative Economy Initiative at San Diego State University (SDSU), participants will discuss how any individual or organization can foster an innovative arts economy, support arts integration in schools and cultural districts, and empower arts leadership. Based on the idea that arts are a measurable, fundamental aspect of San Diego’s local economy – during Creative Conversations, participants will workshop how to demonstrate it.
The program takes place Thursday, November 2nd, 6pm-8:30pm at San Diego’s Central Library in Downtown. Creative Conversations is free and open to all professionals in San Diego’s arts community with RSVP.
