CREATIVE CONVERSATIONS 2017 Theme To Be Announced

Please see below for programming information from previous years.

Creative Conversations 2016: Advocacy & the Arts

All change begins with a conversation, but getting the minds to meet can be a tall order in our sunny yet sprawling city!

Celebrate National Arts & Humanities Month as Creative Conversations convenes emerging leaders and industry veterans to discuss local arts, culture and creativity; have a dialogue about real issues; and discuss approaches and solutions to some of the biggest obstacles faced by San Diego organizations and residents.

Hosted by Rising Arts Leaders San Diego, Creative Conversation 2016: Advocacy & the Arts will occur October 19 at 6 - 8pm at the San Diego Central Library.

This year’s theme, Advocacy & the Arts, will be a platform to:

Introduce you to the vital role advocacy plays in the arts and culture world;
Discuss issues affecting artists and arts organizations today;
Connect arts leaders with government officials and staff; and
Give you tools to have a successful meeting with your local elected official.

Trinh Le of Center on Policy Initiatives will moderate.

You are strongly encouraged to share this with everyone at your organization – invite your Executive Director, Administrative Coordinator and everyone in between. All voices are important!

RAL members are reaching out to government officials, staffers and volunteers, but please reiterate the invitation if you cross paths ahead of the event.

This is a FREE event, but please RSVP!

Creative Conversations 2015

All change begins with a conversation, but just getting the minds to meet can be a tall order in our sunny yet sprawling city, so on October 20th, 2015 from 6pm - 8pm at the Central Library Downtown, Rising Arts Leaders presented the annual event that aims to accomplish just that.

Creative Conversations invites arts leaders from across the arts and culture spectrum to speak and have a dialogue between emerging leaders and industry veterans as we identify real solutions to some of the biggest obstacles. This year we are focusing on Multi-generational Leadership. Lets explore how multiple generations of leaders can work together to build stronger arts organizations and create sector wide change.

This was a FREE event, but we appreciated your RSVPs.

This event is in partnership with Americans For the Arts, Emerging Leaders Network and National Arts and Humanities Month.
Rising Arts Leaders and Creative Conversations is generously sponsored by the James Irvine Foundation, and RALSD is an independant program of Young Audiences of San Diego now Arts for Learning.

The Mentorship Program

This program offers emerging leaders a unique opportunity to strengthen essential skills, explore broader career ideas, and increase their effectiveness in the field. The program is organized around five themes, each representing a position or track in an emerging leader’s career. Participants will be assigned a group of 2-3 Mentors with a unique perspective and knowledge of the theme area. Read about it here!
